The Hilary Rowley Multiple Sclerosis Fund was set up by Adrian Rowley shortly after Hilary’s death with the intention of raising money to help people with this terrible illness.
It would have been very easy to just forget about the many people in the UK who have got MS, but this is not what Hilary would have wanted.
Although the Beta-Interferon family of drugs can help people with MS it is not a cure, and in many cases where the disease has progressed to such an extent that the patient can no longer walk it will not help matters at all, and therefore it will not be recommended for use.
A reliable treatment that will help everybody with MS is probably years away. With this in mind the only real answer is to try and help the people who have got MS as best we can now, perhaps by offering advice, or relevant information.
If the fund in Hilary's memory can help people who have got Multiple Sclerosis then all of the work will be worthwhile.
